![]() ![]() īala made his directorial debut with the 2012 Malayalam action film The Hitlist, in which he played the leading role. The film, directed by his brother Siva, the film was a critical and commercial success. He made a comeback to Tamil cinema in 2014 with the Ajith Kumar-starrer Veeram. He received appreciation for his role in the 2009 film Puthiya Mukham. Since then he acted and found success in a number of Malayalam films. He made his debut in the Tamil film Anbu (2003). His father, Jeyakumar, directed over 350 films and documentaries, while his brother Siva has worked as a director and cinematographer in south Indian films. Kunchacko Boban was awarded the Special Jury Award for his performance in Ee Snehatheerathu at the 2004 Kerala State Film Awards.Bala was born into a family closely associated with the film industry, with his grandfather being the owner of the Arunachala Studios. Later, he went on to act in successful films such as Elsamma Enna Aankutty (2010), Traffic (2011), Seniors (2011), Ordinary (2012), Romans (2013), Pullipulikalum Aattinkuttiyum (2013), How Old Are You? Kunchacko Boban made his acting debut in Fazil's Aniyathipraavu (1997) which turned out to be a blockbuster and made him into an overnight sensation.
