Why lingering UBCD4Win files or registry entries trigger a warning about "Avira" is a mystery, it seems unconnected, but apparently it does. I deleted all UBCD4Win directories and subdirectories. There was a subdirectory with tons of UBCD4Win utilities. I did a registry search for UBCD4Win and removed all entries containing that. There was LOTS of UBCD4Win stuff remaining that the uninstaller did not uninstall. After uninstalling that, (now a second attempt to install Win-10) I started getting the repeated warnings about "Avira". Iĭid a registry search and a file search for "Avira". I unistalled that using the control panel. UBCD4Win, which appears to have arrived preinstalled with the Dell computer. Earlier in the installation process Windows asked me to uninstall There any evidence of that in the registry nor on my hard drive after doing a thorough search. Like Francesco Di Caprio, I had never installed Avira AntiVir, nor was Solved (for me): I had the same issue, the Win 10 install/upgrade kept asking me to manually uninstall " Avira", and another item " BDrom driver".
